Success Secrets for Annual Reviews

I found an interesting blog entry on Monster.com…talking about the oft-dreaded annual review. The sad thing is that going into it doesn’t have to be all that bad for anyone, particularly if you invest the time to track your accomplishments, using a tool such as the productivity tracker I discuss in my book. As the blog mentions, it’s a good idea to leverage the key points in your review into updating your resume, even if you aren’t planning on going anywhere. Here’s the link:

Keep in mind that your HR file often is skewed to the negative aspects of your performance. Any write-ups, warnings, etc. will be there. How you closed that big deal despite tough competition or how you streamlined a process that saved the company thousands of dollars may not be in there. And your boss may not always remember all of your positive accomplishments. So you owe it to yourself, and to your boss and your company to present your real achievements and your true value to the company.
