How to Ebay your way to employment
Write a white paper on whatever you are an authority on, give it a catchy title (I.e. “How To Buy and Sell Real Estate With No Money Down” or “Daytrader Secrets For The Lazy Investor”), and sell it on eBay as an e-book. On your “About Me” page, set up a link to your resume/profile homepage. People who are looking for information on your subject matter are: 1) Looking to spend money, 2) Interested in your expertise. (If nothing else, this technique is good for networking and prospecting clients as a consultant.)
Set the price of your e-book low to attract impulse buyers and to keep your listing fees low. Inside the e-book is a link to your resume/profile homepage and VERY good information about whatever you are writing about. REMEMBER you are selling your reputation as an expert, so make sure your content is strong. Worst case scenario, you lose a few cents advertising on eBay. Best case scenario, you develop a large network of contacts who regard you as the “go-to” person in your field. Better case scenario: You start an affiliate program where other people sell your book for you and as such, advertise your skillset for you and you get paid from book sales as you seek employment. (Setting up an affiliate program of this nature costs a whopping $0 dollars to implement. There are a lot of e-books on line that explain this, but a visit to Clickbank.com may be enough for you to figure out what you need to do. – Wink)
